»THE EINSTEIN-EFFECT«
On Sunday October 12, 2025 from 10 am to 12 pm (doors open at 9:15 a.m.) the Albert Einstein Discovery Center Ulm e.V. will host an event at the Stadthaus Ulm. As part of the ‚Ulmer Quantenfestival‘, author and journalist Benyamin Cohen will speak about Albert Einstein’s lasting influence on today’s world and our modern lives.
In addition, he will take part in a panel discussion with Dr. Karen Carlson (relative of Albert Einstein), Dr. Nancy Hecker-Denschlag (physicist and chair of the Albert Einstein Discovery Center Ulm e.V.) and Prof. Dr. Joachim Ankerhold (Quantum BW spokesperson, AEDC advisory board), where Einstein’s influence will be explored in greater depth.
Admission to the event is free but prior registration at office@einstein.center is requested.

The starting point for his talk is his book “The Einstein Effect: How the World’s Favorite Genius Got into Our Cars, Our Bathrooms, and Our Minds.” In this book, Cohen traces Einstein’s relevance in science, technology, and everyday culture with both expertise and wit. The above-mentioned event is part of Ulm’s Quantum Year “quant.ulm.2025”, which is under the patronage of Lord Mayor Martin Ansbacher and will culminate in the Ulm Quantum Festival from October 6 to 12. The program of the quantum festival also includes exciting insights into current research into subatomic particles and an accompanying art exhibition.
